I have a 2006 z400. i bought it to mod up. But now i sort of want an LTR but people tell me to wait for the kfx450 to come out. So i think im gonna sell my z. Go with a complete mx yfz. like decked out and all done already for like 7,000 or 8,000. Or buy the new ltr stock or used but semi modded for like 7,500 or less. Or wait and buy the kfx450 to come out. Id appreciate respnses. thanks.

Lots of options there... modded z400s are pretty good, but you might be better off selling it stock and getting a race ready quad. Wait for the kfx to come out then ride all 4 450s and see which you like best.

the LT-R is not a great choice right now, they're have frame problems coming out their eyeballs... from the steering stem stopper, to the rear shock welding... should have more surfacing soon enough...

If your going to go mxer, go with any quad you want, your just going to end up puting so many parts on it to make it mx ready it would be the same as if you bought any of the 450's out right now... just buy the one you think looks better... that's pretty much what it boils down to...

Just to clarify the rear part of the frame has been fixed on all ltr's.

And the steering stem issue was caused by a collision with a tree. :)

actually it was found NOT to be the tree's fault. and my personal life long friend nick baldino who also bought an lt-r is now having the same problem as I have just found out when we came off the trails today. he called me up after washing down and found the same problem with his lt-r this is only his 6th ride on it.. bout 56 hours...

to clarify the truth. the LT landed on the a-arm, not the tire, also he was going so slow I'm amazed he even took the bark off... I know both of the people who ride those trails, the man who did that to his LT-R, and the man who rides with him.

;)

and you are correct by that, but he also stated he might buy a used LT-R...

possibly adding it to my collection... :-D of 2 quads and a gator haha... it looks good, can't wait to see plastic schemes for it from maier or some other companies.... it should be one sick contender IMO... definitely has the motor going for it right now...... ti header, ti valves, forged 3 ring (or was it 2 ring) piston... hopefully it won't have crank problems, starter problems, or reverse issues.... hopefully it'll run great.

well im just thinking:

I can get an ltr new or used. I fi get it used. itll have some goodies on it. The feul injection is making me want it more then the yfz.
I can get a completely done yfz. Spend as much as on the others and have a complete bike done. Id buy it used obviously.
or I can wait for the new kfx. Feul injection is nice. This is gettin me wanting it too.

I dont know. OMG. This is a hard decision. thanks.all

I'm just amazed at how many people were there when he hit that tree...or know him personally...

maybe we're not talking about the same guy, maybe we are... but I do know him. regardless.

I'm sure it's the same guy...but whether you know him or not it doesn't really matter...bottom line? I know a couple of hundred guys out there with that particular bike including Dan from DASA who is on the circuit and has first hand knowledge of that bike...and not one single person I know or that Dan knows on the circuit? Has had steering stem issues with that bike...and I have done business with LTR owners all over this country and not one of them has mentioned this problem to me either...

SO without starting a arguement because I've seen this all blow up on several other forums? In all fairness as of right now? There is no issue with that steering stem problem and those are isolated and open to question.

And yes you are right...that is your opinion and you are entitled to it and your right to express your opinion freely...I would just like to express my opinion and facts as I have been informed to the contrary.

I trust the mods will keep this thread monitored so it doesn't turn into a pissing contest...
