when i went to my local kawasaki dealer got all the paper work done for my new kfx450r went to put it into the truck and it wouldent start. the motor would turn over but it wouldent start. they got it to start a cuppel of times turned it back off and the same problam all over agen event after it was worm. they are going to ship me a new one from the factory but i was wondering if any one alse had this problam? im not to happy but the kawasaki dealer i went to was grate about trying to help me thanks for the help.

Did you or they, pull out the choke knob/idle adjust screw? Mine was like that until I figured out to pull the choke knob out. Starts good now.

I had the same problem with mine. They had it running already and I took it around the parking lot and I thought the idle was real high. So the guy at the dealer went back inside and I turned it off. When i tired t strat it and nothing happened it just cranked. Of course now every in the parking lot is bashingthe thing "oh thats why i dont buy first years" and stuff like that. So I go back inside and get the unamed dealer guy. He gets outside and has this "oh crap" look on his face. So he stares at it for a mintue and then this little light bulb goes off. He showed us the knob pushed it back in and it started right up.

Mine started right up but I learned quick it likes the knob to be out for few minutes, especially if its cold outside. once its warm, its fine. Just spins over if you don't pull the knob.

Did you notice in the manual it says not to give it any throttle when starting? I had the same problem at first but now I pull the choke out and just hit the starter with no gas and it starts up first try.

Good Point, I think that is the same with the LT-R.
