Well, I have finally caved in to doctor up the appearance of my KFX. Grabbed a little Mother's polish to see if the aluminum frame would polish up and WOW, very cool. Everything less the cast aluminum polishes up to a bright shin. Now I don't want to get my quad dirty. All the square and round tubing and even the welds polish up nicely.

By hand, don't have a powerball and the powerball may be to big. There was a couple of spots where there was aluminum weld spatter and I just took 1200 sand paper and smoothed it before polishing it.

To bad the cast aluminum wouldn't polish up like that.

Appearantly there is no coating put on from the factory to keep the aluminum from corroding so I'm going to spray some kinda of clear or something to try and protect it. Bare aluminum will look terrible in no time after riding around the dunes by salt water.

I have both the mini and regular powerball, the mini is like 3 inch diameter. I think Josh Luburgh sanded his down then polished

Looks like he sanded and polished the cast aluminum but didn't touch the reast of the frame. The rest is easy, just a little elbow grease.
