I guess the only real reason I would consider one is for a little more sound output.

Well I think if you were on an real tight budget and knew you might never get a slip-on or complete exhaust that might change your exhaust note a bit. I doubt it would give you much performance gain but hey it's something different and to each there own.

Wouldn't removing the baffle be almost the same?

I heard someone say on this site that removing the baffle killed the power and that they were putting it back in. I dont know that for certain. Try it and see.

Can someone tell me if the stock KFX silencer has baffles like the LTR or if its a straight through core.

If it's a straight through core, that end cap along with no airbox lid and a tuner will be an awesome budget setup. If its got baffles like the LTR you would be better off saving your money for a slip-on.
