Well the 700r is, or at least my stock 700r was faster then the stock 450 I ran this weekend at the sand drags, same tires guys was about 60 lbs lighter than me and they were both black. Maybe the green will be faster

Raptors are mean for sure. I saw a white & black Kawi this weekend and it looks much better in person. They look like Kawi did their homework. No green one in stock yet. BTW, how do you like the Raptor overall compared to the 450's?

The kawi 450 looks awfully small compared to some of the other bikes, don't know why but they do. The Raptor is sweet, nothing but power pretty much all the time, and the YFZ front end took all the whoops with ease.

Glad your liking the Raptor. Being 6'3" I may have to go the Raptor route.

I don't know much about anything. But I'm 6'4 250 lbs and my KFX 450r fits me just fine. I like that fact that it's nimble and narrow.[/b]

That's good to know that at 6'4" you don't feel cramped when riding. I did get the chance to sit on a white KFX and it felt really good. Seat is a little firm but narrow, handlebars and pegs felt like they were in a good position. Seeing it in person made me really consider it as a new quad. :idhitit: If the dealer had it in green I made have made an impulse buy. They had a black KFX in the warehouse but I didn't get to see it. Steve's black KFX looks sikk but I think black plastic is really hard to keep looking nice. Maybe the FULEATV graphics will help with that.

I know that the new Raptors handle pretty good too especially the SE's. I really do like the sudden power burst and the fun factor of a 450 but I've never had the opportunity to ride a 700R.

yeah the kfx is designed to be narrow and nimble therefore it has to be smaller, but i don't think they would make it so small people couldn't ride it........ i think the it just seems people aren't used to the size yet. also kawi made the kfx to appeal to the hardcore trail rider and the woods racer, which make up most of quad owners.

When I sat on it it seemed to fit well also, except for the low handle bars (my impression), it definealty looks quick and nimble and is probably great for the trails.

Well me and my buddy ran ours head to head. He has some mods on his raptor a pipe and a Doebeck and switching quads the Raptor won everytime but not by much. Once it is piped and a controller is in place I think the 450 will take his Raptor. However in the big picture there are too many variables to say which is faster between our quads. I like them both man his seat is so much softer it was like sitting in a lazy boy.

i don't think the power output is anything we are going to have to worry about, it probably just needs a few simple mods and a suspension upgrade and it will run par or even better than any other quad.

yup ...... pipe, pc, intake, some Long Travel front shocks, Long Travel a-arms, a precision and this could be the best 450 out. I am very excited to get this bike dialed in.

we all know these bikes (all of them) are corked up. Hell, even my 300ex loved having the addition of a WB head pipe put on, even with the factory muffler on it. I'm sure the KFX will hold its own.

Fuel, since your tuning and all, I'm assuming you have a dyno? Any stock at the tire numbers on this KFX?

No i have a dyno. All the dyno testing i have done at Dasa. I have not done a stock dyno test yet because i have had no way to controll the fuel. It would be a waste to run it without being able to pull off the air box lid abd pull out the baffle at the same time you run it stock. Now that i have power commanders i will be running it on the dyno asap. I hope sometime this week. i will have a stock pass, no air box lid and no baffle pass. I will also have a Power Commander map for no air box lid and no baffle ...... and Dasa pipes to follow.
