I am looking for some honest opinions on my next quad. I will be switching from my KFX700 which has been very good to me but I need a change. The only choices are the LTR450 or the KFX450.

It is really hard to make my mind up what with the KFX not even being out yet. I have rode my friends LTR and love it but don't want to buy it just to see the KFX come out and blow it away. On the other hand I hate to try and wait for the KFX and not be able to get it until late into the spring and then wait for ever on parts with it being about the same as any other 450 power or ride wise.

The reason I am trying to make the decision now is because if i am buying an LTR I want to get the free stuff for buying before the end of November :D

Any opinion is welcome and thanks for the help.

I don't know which quad will be faster, but i know that the kawi has a 32 bit fuel injection and the suzuki only has a 16 bit,so there will probably be more potential with the kawa as far as mods go. THe kawai will be lighter and a little skinnyer i think. Its hard to tell when the quads not even out yet. The only thing i can see as maybe a problem is the first year aluminum frame. Who knows how well it will hold up.All I know is IM BUYIN ONE. And as far as the fuel injection goes I might be totaly wrong, but its just like a computer 16 or 32 which one is better???

I doubt the KFX will have the width of the LTR... it doesn't appear so in the pictures anyways.

Also, the LTR has the smaller wheels and tires.

Those 2 things make the LTR a better MX quad right out of the gate, but it really depends on what kind of riding you're going to do. You would have to spend a little money to get the KFX to be a more adequate MX quad, but like I said... it depends on how and where you ride.

Personally, I'm going for green!!!

I have to agree with fuel, If the motor is the same, Its gonna pull like crazy through all the gears. As for width, I ve heard that the Kawi is 48" wide, I think the Zuke is 49". Then you have factory 18" tires vs 20" tires( stock, doesnt matter if you gonna change em right off)

I think the parts availability will be better then it was for the LTR450. I know IMS/Roll had one allready to develop their stuff. Seems like it takes about 6 months for all the good stuff to be out. Or atleast 6 months to be able to compair a few items before rushing out to buy the first one out.

the kfx450r will be 46'wide BUT rim could be easily inverted so thats not a problem and i saw the motocross kx450f...IT PULLS CRAZY TROUGHT EVERY GEARS!!!From my own opinion kawasaki isnt like yamaha when they release something its not full of firts year problem(like RAPTOR and nearby everyhting they do)so i'm not realy thinking about that(the kfx DOESN'T count for first year problem it was made 99% by suzuki only fender are diferents)The 450 of kawasaki will be as good as the ltr is and for the tire...who race with stock tire  everybody put holeshot 18' to race stock spin too much and the final...THATS MADE BY KAWASAKI!! :blah: so it will be nice

Well I couldnt afford a new KFX450 so i done a bunch of work to my 400. It already has the gusseted frame and works piggyback shocks. ( race cross country so I dont want to go wider)so i put a big bore kit in it, hotcams, new cam chain, and my next mod is a new rear shock so we'll see what happins next season
