I want to stiffen up the rea shock a little but cant get a spanner in there. Is there a easy way to do this or do I need to pull stuff off the bike to get to it?

WOW they must be coming from the factory with different spring settings, mine spring preload was full tight.
I had to use a long taper punch and a hammer to turn the spring colars to soften it up. This will work to set it up, but it is best to pull it and tighten it properly when you get it where you want it. Hope this helps.

Make sure you are adjusting the proper setting! Tightening the spring will only adjust the ride height, not the stiffness of the ride! If you want to stiffen the ride you have to adjust the compression! Your owners manual will show you where it is!

It looks like a progressive spring to me. So tightening it down would make it a bit stiffer also. Wouldnt it?
