Thoughts after Riding Dunes

Just got back from the dunes. Bike ran well but feels a bit sluggish. She’s not running 100%. Still completely stock. Hard start in the cold morning . Stalls when kicked into 1st unless she’s warm. I believe I need to adjust idle and replace clutch cable. 22x11-10 paddles don’t feel bad much better than shitty sand geckos. Have new chain, sprockets , case saver and FCI yet to install. Waiting on PC5 but also considering ProCom Ecu. need suspension mods as well. Pretty rough in the whoops. Was head to head with my brothers bored KFX 440cc. I have decided on MONSTER exhaust next over dasa, Yoshi, Fmf, HMf etc

Upgrade the coil and turn the idle up a few turns for cold starts.

Pull out the knob to help as well

22’s bounce a lot in the woops/rough stuff. They are just a drag tire honestly.

21’s are a good compromise between now clearance, speed, and decent ride.

Throw on a 13t front sprocket with 22’s. It’s still a bit faster than 14/38 and 20’s

Dasa, monster, empire are all close

Monster tends to have a shorter canister which is why it will make a tiny bit more power. You can make the others a shorty as well.

08 KFX450r- DASA, FCI, Stg 2 Hotcams, Wiseco FI, Dynatek Coil

Race Tech dual rate front springs, GT thunder XC Link and Race tech spring, LSR +2 Arms and LSR Axle

Poly Case Saver, Streamline Stabilizer, PRM Skidplates, Pro Armor Bumpers, Tusk Heel Guards, IMS 3.7 tank, 6K HID

Next up: Dasa Port Job, JE Pro 12 12.8 piston

What exactly does a upgraded coil help with? Better spark quicker starts? I have to almost always pull the knob to start.

Easier starts, smoother more consistent power.

It really shines the more you add mods.

The stock coil is weak
