Question PC5 and ProCom tuning issue, help pls!

Hello,

I have a 2008 KFX450R that has a PC5, Fuel Customs intake and Lexx slip on exhaust fitted.
I only do desert riding as Im based in Dubai UAE.

I was having issues with the battery draining during short term storage, so I purchased a ProCom ECU as this seemed to be the best fix and hopefully also add a few horses. When we fit the ProCom ECU the PC5 reads the idling revs at around 3000-4000RPM. When the stock ECU is fitted, the idling RPM is roughly 1500-2000 RPM.

The issue is that this causes the PC5 to be tricked into thinking that the RPM is double what it actually is, meaning that at high revvs I don't get full delivery of the potential power available and the engine performance is limited.

The false reading only appears when the ProCom ECU is fitted and goes away when the factory ECU is replaced. We tried all ProCom maps, from 0 to 9, but the issue does not go away as long as the ProCom is connected.

Any help how the PC% and ProCom can be tuned, so as to get optimum performance and allow my battery to maintain its life for more than a week?

Your time and help is much appreciated!

Yes procom reads wasted spark.

You will have to have the pcV updates to read .5

Or just run the procom by itself.

Map7 will work just fine for those mods

08 KFX450r- DASA, FCI, Stage 2 Hotcams, Wiseco Programmer, Dynatek Coil, 6K HID, 7" LED Light Bar.

Poly Case Saver, Streamline Stabilizer, Full PRM Skidplates, Pro Armor Bumpers, Tusk Heel Guards, TRX Rear Hubs, Bar risers, IMS 3.7 tank

Skat Trak, STI Tech 4 XC

Next mods- JE 12.8(Thanks coop!), ported head, a arms, axle

You'll have to contact Dynojet to send a firmware patch to change the P.P.R rate/ pulse per revolution rate to work with the Procom...

Or dis-connect the PC-V & use just the procom...Or use the stock ECU & dynojet like before...

Here's a thread on it...https://www.kfx450hq.com/forums/engin...-autotune.html

Procom reads wastes spark.

It needs to adjusted from 1.0 to .5 if I remember
