Looking at the mods you have I would say the 9 paddles are a little much. We are running similar mods (basically the big 3). I run 21x12x8 6 paddle extremes. I ride Glamis alot. I run a 13t counter sprocket in the sand, and for me the 6 paddles extremes work great. They don't slide as well as an angled paddle but hill shooting and drags they work really well. Paddla Brats are about the only paddle I think is better, but they cost twice as much. Call up Fullerton Sand Sports, talk to Dave or Joe about what you want from your paddles. They will ask a few pertanant questions and give you a very well educated opinion on what tires will serve you best. Fullerton Sand Sports - Distributor of Performance Tires & Wheels

I agree with Dirtydawg that is a bit too much paddle for you, especially at LS, OK and without some major HP mods. Look at a 6 paddle tire. I run the padla brats since I got a good deal on them, the folks at Fullerton seem to be recommended on about every board I am on for sand tires. I also have the sandstars as well. The brats are night and day lighter and hook like crazy the sandstars are great for general duning. You will have a great time with either.

If you spend more time at the strip running in a straight line definitely get a good set (extremes, haulers, brats) of straight paddles. If you spend more time out in the trails the sandstars won't disappoint and those behind you will appreciate a little less roost. The straight paddles throw it up something fierce.

I have run 13,14,and 15t counter sprockets, and 36,37,and 38 rears. The best combo I found for me and my quad is a 13-37 for the sand. I can pin it in 3rd and pull hard all the way up Oldsmobile, and China wall at Glamis. Pismo I have only run the 14-38 (stock gearing) There are no hills that big to shoot in Pismo, so you would probably be fine with the 15t depending on how much roll out you have. I have about 68" of roll out on my 21x12x8's. Less roll out (smaller circumfernce), you can go taller gearing, more roll out (larger circumfrence) will take shorter gearing. Remember the size of the tires will affect you final gear ratio (true for sand or dirt).

I just called Fullerton Sand Sports at 714-484-5977 and spoke to them about tires. I will be ordering 21x12x8 6 paddle extreme mounted on 8x9"wide .125 douglas wheels. Thanks for the great post and information.
