I have a factory Kawi lowered subframe on my race bike (Creamer's 09 practice bike) and a BCS adjustable subframe on my practice bike. BCS modified my factory unit and although I don't remember the cost, I know it wasn't too expensive.

Depending on how much is cut-off or what height you set an adjustable unit at, YOU WILL have a few mods to make. You will have to improvise when mounting the exhaust and possibly the rear shock remote res. Also, there may be some minor cuts and tweaks that need to be made to the plastics in order for them to sit flush. You most likely will have issues with the seat and need to relocate/rework the mounts. Walsh Pro Pin seat mounts will help!!!

Both my bikes are mint but I did have some work to do when changing out plastics and putting a new exhaust on my race bike. Creamer's spec was -2" off the subframe. While it does squat the ass-end down nice, it made for additional workload.

If you are racing, DO NOT half-ass the mods. If you do, you will more than likely destroy your can after it works it's way free from however you mounted it and smashes the rear axle. I have seen it happen too many times from guys w/ lowered subframes and half-ass mods.

Hope this helps!!!
Good post and well said...

I've seen some Walsh bikes that everything was lowered on.
I can see it in a way... but then in a way I can also see where it is a bit much.
To where the benefit of lowering some things to some degree are more trouble than gain.

Are those the things I am looking for that eliminate the tool holder?
I know I've seen them in pics, just didn't know who made them or how much?

Well, if I were you I would... and here is why... and Garrett can correct me if I am wrong...

I believe the box "connects-to" the regular FCI.... so I believe you could put it on when you want/need it and take it off when you don't.

If all you ever do is ride groomed MX then you might never need it.

But if you play on tracks and deal with any puddles or anything on them you might want the box on.

I take that back, the Walsh sub-frame cost $600. They also sell a 1.5 inch lowering kit from the whole entire quad. Cody Gibson ran it last year. I parked next to him for tech inspection and there was a very noticeable difference between our two quads. I really want to feel how it would ride.
