Back when I first joined the forums, I remember reading how alot of people were saying the KFX was a little twitchy, so I really didn't think too much about it, even though I felt the handling wasn't as great as evryone was saying. I recently got my hands on a service manual, and just for shits & giggles, I decided to check to see what the toe-in was supposed to be. Using the method described in the manual, the toe-in should be 20mm or .79 of an inch (roughly 13/16 to 7/8) at 1g (sitting on the ground). When I checked the quad, the toe-in was actually toe-out by about a 1/2 inch. I have service manuals for all of my toys, including my Harley, Waverunners, and Seadoo's. I don't know why I waited so long to pick up a manual for my quads. I guess where I'm going with this is that you really can't trust that the dealer has set your bike up correctly, and that getting a service manual and checking that it is setup to the specifications yourself is probably more important than most of us think.

oh yeah...I adjusted it to the factory specs, and the ride is significantly better. It actually tracks straight without hunting, and turns much more predictable.

I was looking at mine last night also and it looks like it is toe-out. I have had the quad for about two months and I haven't hit any thing. So I am assuming it came like this. Where did you take your meaurements from? (inside lip of front rim?) I looked at the procedure in the service manual, but it seems like a better method can be done.
Thanks,
Jeff

I used the mold line to measure from. but after reading bones reply I looked again and they weren't very centered, and I actually ended up with 1 1/8...Doooh. So I re-did the toe using the center knobby. I didn't notice much difference from my first adjustment, but will prolly put alot less wear on the tire.

Rides more than just a little twitchy, don't it. I figured if thats how Kawi does it then thats how I ought to do it, other wise the measurements they give you don't work.

i use a tool from noleenj6 that makes adjusting the toe a breeze, it uses the inside of the rim for measuring and is very accurate. its a little pricey but is worth every penny if you ask me. go to http://www.NoleenJ6.com/parts-store/tools_...-tool_1044.html
hope this works don't know how to post a link. GREAT TOOL MUST HAVE IMO!
