just got my KFX a week ago and now sometimes wen i go to start it up ill press the ignition button and it will sound like its going to start but once i let off the button it will die. any ideas??
First make sure you are not pressing on the throttle at all. The ECU wont allow the engine to start if you press the throttle while trying to start it. I know, kind of annoying. Next I would check the idle screw on the left side. Pull it out when trying to start cold. Just use it as you normally would a choke on a carb. Next check to see how many clicks the knob is turned out. Most guys here are running 22 clicks out and they are running good. Next check your battery voltage and make sure you don't have a drain on the battery. A few people have had trouble with starting due to a week battery. If none of that works there are several threads on here on adjusting the throttle position sensor. This is a little trickier and requires a plug adapter and a multi meter. You can download the KFX manual on this site along with the TPS adjustment instructions.
+1 on what he said. These quads are hard to start for the first 10 to 20 hours.
