front brake LIGHT switch

Just curious of those who run a brake light in the trails...

Have any of you had an issue with the front brake switch going bad?

Found out mine was out when I almost got plowed in the trails with a group.

Mine don't work every time... one time it works, and most of the time it don't or it only flickers like I tapped the brake. Wiring seems fine and the rear brake switch works every time.

Haven't checked it yet but think the switch itself is shot.

Mine is flickering right now. Usually can just take the switch loose, wiggle it around a bit to clean the internal contacts and it's fine till I wash the quad again. Nearly got hit coming back into camp the last time out at the dunes because of it.

OK... thanks... that makes sense...

I'll look at it tomorrow maybe... as I didn't do much more than a trail inspection to see if it was something I could fix there.... and I decided it wasn't...

I don't know if I have any contact cleaner left though...

the only issue i ever had with mine is that some ppl said my taillight didnt light up when i used the front break, but since then my whole tail light and bracket got ripped off LOL so dont really have to worry to much about it haha

I know there were some people on here a few times that were having trouble w/their main fuse blowing, and each time it ended up being a bad front break switch. I haven't run a tail light since the Ironman last year b/c it got trashed and I didn't wanna trash the brand new one I bought to replace it, so I don't even know if my switch is functional or not. Lol

I personally don't use a tail light just because during a race it's too much of an advantage if there is a racer behind you..

I like to hit my brakes at the very last second before a sharp turn to throw the guy off behind me so mayby he'll wreck

But for regular trail riding I wouldn't mind having a brake light. The bracket that holds up the brake light snapped on mine one of the two welds broke.

To be honest i've never seen a kfx with a Brake light ha

dude im gonna laugh one time when someone crashes into u and their tire gets stuck and messes up ur race! lol jk! its all fair in the race man , ppl get pissed at my friend cuz he looks behind like 500 times a race just to block peoples lines from passing him LOL

Thats actually happened before dude t boned me an got his front tire stuck between my heel guard an rear tire it sucked Lol

Since it's a sealed switch beside the activation pin...You'll also need compressed air to force the contact cleaner into the switch...Sorta like a electronic pressure "washer" And are you sure the connector grip their posts

I just pulled it off a few minutes ago to check it over.

It must be the internal contacts though... because the wires looked good and connectors were tight.
