Thanks for the supporting words.

Never been through anything like this with an ATV... but I do know that folks in forums often get all defensive about their rides... rather it's ATV's or motorcycles or tractors or lawnmowers or whatever.

So I appreciate nobody giving me hell.

No, that is the only thing I can feel good about now.

I had the money set aside to do that, but my original warranty was still in effect, and I knew a good bit prior to it expiring that it was going into the shop. So I decided to wait until I saw how they handled this problem, and pay the premium after getting the thing back.

Boy am I sure glad I waited!

That saved me from wasting a lot of money....

As for the ECU swap-out deal.... as I feared, the one they have in stock also has a bad ECU also the dealer believes. I had figured as much because I didn't remember it feeling any different than mine on the low end when I test rode it. (I thought it had stale gas at the time)

So that didn't work out... and also as you can see the dealer has had double the reason to talk Kawasaki into accepting this.

You have been such a ton of help man... really.

The only thing I regret is that I didn't understand more to start with like you do... and it took me so long to get up to speed...

For example, it hit me today that I really should have hauled my hiny down to Sears and picked up a clamp-on ammeter from them. I didn't really understand how handy it would have been until I got so fed up today that I looked it up... mad enough to go buy one and go over to the dealer for this damn tech shop call between them and Kawi's tech.

wow duster i cant say im surprised but i actually am but in a good way

what your saying is that kawasaki isnt accepting your warnety because it may lead to a mass recall that is highly needed among these quads. i realy hope that what you are trying to get across happens! kawi was always a huge atv brand as everyone knows but if what your saying is true that may be the reason for them canciling their atv race team and all support because they dont want to back what they are selling which just bull!

huh wow i hope you go through with this situation, i hate to see people get screwed over, if there is anything that i along with a few others on this site could do please ask

well the simple fact is we ALL KNOW something is wrong, as there are a ton of having the same issue, which usually means recall, but with all the recalls lately with automakers, and kawi already having 1 recall on this machine my guess is they are trying to sweep it under the rug

I even went as far as telling the dealer I wanted to be down there and watch them put the acid in the battery and install it on the quad cuz after 3 batterys i didnt even think they were swapping them out, but yet they still show no record of me even coming down there! i find that hard to believe they can do parts swap with no paper work

yea dealers realy just dont... care!

our local dealer is a joke everything about it and i know exactly what you mean the same thing happened to me a while back but a good example is that when i got my second kfx (they couldnt find the problem with the first) the manager i guess never sent in the paperwork and i just got the letter about the extened warenty and it said that the base warenty was good until september 15. ok but i the trade was done roughy may 10th. its nice for me but still our dealer is just out there they dont pay attition to anything
