2008 model. had chronic starting problems. had the tps changed one time. finally read somewhere about not leaving it in gear and havent had as many issues. my solutions: store it out of gear and keep it fully charged with a tender. my complaint: location of battery imho subjects battery to more trauma than if it were up and out of the way...not inches from hardpack, rocks, etc. under the seat. buy 45 dollar batteries and accept that your gonna use em up. or rewire the set up with a second, which lots of HS fellas around here do. ive busted frames, a arms and rims, and that battery wont hold up where it is unless you ride lookin for ducks and bunnies.

Overnight is enough to do it.

My 08 is new, so no problems yet. Day one I installed a battery tender and dielectric greased all connections. I did have the thought that it might be helpful for people to also list any electrical mods that have been done and how and where they were wired in.

We've had this discussion 1000 times. Lol. 08 never a problem. Leave kill switch on and have it in gear or neutral...doesn't matter. As long as the kill switch is on no issues.

I have no electrical mods at all.
It's from something present in the stock machines... well some of them.

08 never had problems. Park in neutral, key off, switch off. Left for months without cranking, and fires right up every time. No mods, bone stock.

08, only had a problem once when water got into the main fuse holder and killed the battery. Cleaned the fuse plus holder and added the dielectric grease. Normal shut down has been kill switch to kill engine, turn key off, park in neutral. Sat for 3 months, started up just fine on the same factory battery that got killed once.

I need to try kill on + neutral.
If that is the case, it can have nothing to do with that sensor I don't think.
If it is kill switch on for all of us who have had drain issues...
Well then what is wrong with ours you think?
And what does the kill switch have to do with it?
