I just run agains Ds450 with few mod like full exhaust, diferent f/r sprocket combination and I win by 5 to 6 quad in 660ft, and they toll me it's imposible that this quad run like that. They what we have in this quad but I really don't know I buy like that in a police action.

i currently own an ltr with fox koq long travel suspension with the big three i think it was at almost 49rwhp and im looking to switch to kawi the reason being is that the kawi is so much easier for me weight only 150lbs is that i feel alot less work throwing it around in turns and much easier to control. the ltr isn't such a pig i love mine to death it handled great and i could still move it around in the air. but the kawi just seems more suited to me.
its all about were you like the power and what you feel comfortable on.

That LTR probably has the stuff out of the stock exhaust, has internal engine work, and is likely dyno tuned.
Then you are running around with all that power (45-46 hp) on stock gearing.
Spinning too much and top speed is too slow... and those tires aren't speed demons.
My neighbor a few houses up has the LTR450 that got sold out from under me by the sales manager of the dealership. He can corner a lot harder than me in the fields... but I own him in the woods. It's too wide.
He would get me on an MX track, and would likely outrun me in a drag.
But we don't have an MX track in the neighborhood... and neither of us suffer 'shortdickitis' so we haven't drag raced them to see how they stack up.
Bottom line is though... no, there is not all that much of a major difference stock-to-stock and lightly modded. So no, you shouldn't have a feeling of a huge gap between your KFX and this LTR... unless it is how you are set up, or the engine of the LTR has work.

My KFX with the big 3 and a 15T front did repeated 73MPH runs on the sand at Coos bay. Friends LTR did 72MPH with similiar mods. Would love to see on solid ground.
Stock, my son's KFX did 64 MPH on the sand. My other son's LTZ400, bone stock did 63 MPH (runs way better than it should) and my son ran my wifes identical stock LTZ and it would only do 59 MpH.
All using Garman GPS

no matter how fast the ltr goes just through the kawi in reverse and the ltr will remember which quad is better plus in the mud the ltr sits way to low to play but they are right they are fast and all that but still should not just run off and leave u

the ltrs are faster with mods i think!just taking the silencer off the pipe and a cherry bomb makes a huge differance!was out riding like 2 weeksago and i was with my buddy with gaytm525 xc and we ran into a nice ltr kid had stock pipe uncorked and he said engine mods but didnt say what was done!he saw the gaytm and asked my buddy to race!the went 3 or 4 times the ltr smoked the ktm 525 3 of those times by maybe a couple of bike lengths it was so funny my buddy was crying!!!!!then the dude tried stepn to me hes like wanna race me and im like nah on a track i will or a trail run but straight aways are boring and require no skill!he laughed and complemented me several times on how the kawi was lookin!!!!

my .02..racing 660ft is not a race...280-300ft is good distance for racing...question is kfx-ltr! what i seen at the track ltr pulls damn hard due to the 18' in tires till about half track then kfx pulls past for the win..but these are both good riders..I've seen lots of 450's with the big 3 get spanked with just pipe 450s because of rider error..don't matter what mods you have or how much hp you got if you can't get down the track...

agreed..I liked my ltr alot b/c it was low and could corner well... I think drag racing is boring as well... a good distance to race is 10miles
Ltr's are not hard to get power out of, Honda's even easier, but I think the Can-Am and KFX handle so much better than either of them its rediculous
