Getting rid of the light/kill/starter switch assembly
I want to get rid of the large light/kill/ starter switch assembly on the bars and install a smaller, simpler switch. I have jammed my thumb into it a few times and it is annoying. I don't run with lights. I have seen a picture in an article with a MX bike type kill switch wired up to act as a starter button. Does any one have any ideas? Or maybe tell me what other people are running just so I can get some ideas. Post a pic if any of you have put on a different switch.
Thanks for the help in advance.

I have yet to do it on the 450...but I ran a kill switch (Yamaha style) as the starter button on my old KFX400 and loved the set-up. Took so much clutter off the bars and was great for racing! All you have to do, if you're not running lights, is tap right into the power and ground wires coming into the switch from the original harness. I used a DMM to find what wires we what and went from there. You could prolly chop it all off short under the front hood for a clean look. I also highly recommend removing the clutch sensor switch as they are common to mess up from being banged on a lot of sport quads. All you have to do is tie the two wires together and you can start any gear. Be careful though cause it'll start when you hit the button...no matter if the clutch is pulled or not. haha
