Overheating?

Today i went riding and several times when i turn off the quad it would not start. The FI light came on steady until i would crank it and then it would blink as the engine cranked over but the quad would not start. So i let it sit and cool off because it did seem to be running a little hot anyway. After i would let it cool it would start back up again.

Is there a temp sensor that kills the ignition if it gets to warm? Am i thinking its something that it is not could it be a FI problem? I thought about removing the pciii and checking all connections and loading a differant map with more fuel.

I dont know if there is a sensor that shuts it off if it is to hot but mine did the same thing this weekend. I actually had some one push start me and after that it started up fine and ran good to.

I thought it was a wiring issue but i really dont know.

i dunno bout overheating man, i ride in 90-100+ degrees and i ride hard, last time my coolant was only like half full, and i run hot but never overheated, only time i had the fi blink when trying to start was my rollover sensor

I checked and all the relays and roll over sensor where lightly snug on their attach points. I pulled to check fuses etc. It just had to cool off for a phew min before it would start up again.

The coolant is at proper level and yes the fan was on entire day never really kicked off more than id say 5-10 sec at max. The light is labeled as a temp light as well as FI so i have a couple areas to look. 2moro I am removing the pciii and check all conections as well as load a differant map.

OK so the problem is Thermal because it only happens at operating temp. I did a diagnostic check with the code active and the vehicle hot and not running what i came up with is 4 long blinks and 1 short and that is Injector malfunction wiring open or short. So now i have the pciii unplugged and running it with the stock connector in place to see if it may just be the pcIII or its connector.

Yes the tps wire is good i just checked 2nd time but even with the tps wire disconnected from the pciii the quad still runs without a fault light pretty sure this is normal as it just goes to factory settings. What i found is i can not duplicate the problem when the pciii is diconected completely and factory harness is connected only when the pcii is connected. This is what happens it acts like the loop is not complete from the fuel injector back to the factory computer (Example: unplug your injector and turn over your quad) so this leads me to beleive one of the plugs connected to the pcii is bad at high temp or the pciii itself has an internal thermal problem either way im not running air conditioning to my harness and pciii so this shit's gotta go back! HAHA So for now im gonna be running stock computer with dasa 13" and FCI. I ran it in the yard and seems to run good, not as good but still good. Hope the computer is warrantied i bought it from Moose Racing a couple months ago.
