Hhhhhhhhhhm,

I have the same problem, my bike is currently at the dealer now.
After noticing the Loose Clamp I opened it and it was full of dust.
The bike was not running like it should. Last Weekend a standard YZF450 beat me with almost thirty feet from 1st to 5th gear. WTF?
Now I wonder if the Power Commander is also to blame, since my bike do not reach the Rev limiter in each gear, but it doesn't pick up more speed either. I assume the bike is running too rich.
Talked to them today and they say the compression is just over 5.0 and the dyno shows the power as normal, but they will map the PCIII for me free of charge and Dyno it again.Maybe it is because I received the bike from them with dust already in the intake and a loose clamp(just a shame I only noticed a week after) I can tell you guys one thing when it comes back I will recheck everything again and change the oil to be on the safe side.

There was worse than a little dust in my boot. It was caked with mud internally so i am not accepting it back without a new engine or at the least a rebuild. Hope you get yours back and everything is ok.

Are you sure that the reason your bike wasn't running right is just because of all the excess air coming into the motor? Also, I rode my z400 without the filter on it on accident all day on a track with so much dust you couldn't finish a lap without pulling over to breath, and it basically destroyed my valves, but the rest of the motor was fine. I wouldn't worry so much, if there is anything wrong with it at all, it is probably just your valves.

They replaced the intake valves, piston, rings, cylinder, and filter. After breaking it in and noticing a dirty intake again I removed the intake and replaced it with the FCI. However when I disassembled it I had noticed the air box was faulty and leaked past the plastic ring in the front that holds the screen in. The glue along the top edge was broken. Well after removing the kawasaki shit intake/box they use stock its ran great since!
