Ok so i got a single cab 2005f150. I got some decent room behind the seats about a foot and want to put a sub and a amp. I dont care for anything crazy. I might buy my sisters JL 12inch w7s and rockford 1000w amp just dont no where to put them. Anyone have advice on a good amp/sub setup. I dont like sony crap so dont bring that into this. And maybe a way i can fit it into my cab? Pictures of something? I dont mind building my own box. Not looking to blow windows out eaither just something nice.
Btw im trying to stay cheap. i really only have about 200$ to spend. maybe get used amp or something.

Ebay, I have bought alot of car stereo stuff from ebay. I got a real nice dual 12" box off of ebay that I had in my 77 F-150. It was actually for an S-10 but worked great and there was a place between the speakers to mount the amp. I loved that truck and I would like to find the mofo's that stole it, trashed it and stole all my stereo stuff!!!!! Sons a bitches!!!!!!!

If you can get w7's for $200, you are the man. Seriously, w7's retail for like a G each! Personally I think it may be a tough squeze getting them into a single cab, especially two of them. The have a mounting depth of around 10" not including the thickness of the enclosure material. I think for a budget system, Ebay is the place to go. Maybe look for a Kicker SoloBaric L5, JL w3, or a Alpine Type R and a slot loaded enclosure. I know there is better subs out there but those can be had for a good price, and will pound in the right box. As far as amps go, depends on the subs you buy. What size and how many. If you find 2 L5's, grab a atleast a 500W rms (not peak) amp.
Here's what I managed to fit in my S-10 awhile back. wish I still had it.

thanks guys!. i found these there pioneer slimline subs? I read some good reviews about them and there pretty cheap. Id like to get maybe just 1 of them on a good amp. It can handle 1000w but should i get a 1000w amp? And how would the 1 compare to putting 2 in there.

She hasent used them in 2years since she bought a charger. And now she wants another car so i dont think shes keeping them or using them. Going to shoot a deal with her

I'm running 2 Pioneer Premier 10" 350W RMS/1000 Watt max dual voice coil subs in a dual 10" ported Bassworx box with an Alpine MRP-M500 amp, and they hit pretty hard. Nothing too retarded, but they do the trick. (I can already made my ears ache, any more and I'd probably seriously damage my hearing, hehe)
Pioneer subs and Alpine amps are a good bang for your buck I found, which is why I bought them. With something like a Kicker/Rockford amp you'll have to spend more money to get the minimum of what you need.
The max wattage rating on a sub is irrelevant, it's the average (RMS) rating you want to worry about. A 500 watt amp will more than power a 350 watt RMS 1000 watt max sub. Also, they shallow subs won't hit nearly as hard as the regular ones with the bigger magnets, I would only run them if you can't get away with a normal sub because of space limitations. And a sub will need more sq. footage in the box if it's ported... You'll also have to buy a deck, a decent wiring kit, a wiring harness, and a radio antenna adaptor for your truck if you haven't already wired in a head unit/subs. That alone could cost ya almost $300 by itself (Assuming the airbags in your truck aren't wired through the head unit. My buddy put a deck in his '06 silverado, and it was wired like that. $350 JUST for the wiring harness to bypass the airbags). Just some f.y.i's if you didn't already know.

What amp would you recommend for that pioneer sub and 1 or 2 of them should i go with? What els would i need with this set up. My air bags dont run to the head unit and head units wired up already. this is my first time doing this so very lost

I'm running this amp ( Alpine MRP-M500) with the two Pioneer Premier 10" 350w RMS subs. It's a single channel amp, but I just have both subs wired into the same positive/negative terminals. If you go with those 10" shallow subs, any 500 watt RMS amp will do. (I could probably blow both of my subs with that amp no problem, and it's turned down)
If you already have the deck wired in, all you need is a wiring kit, a box, and subs. This is where you want to worry about the max power rating on your subs, if your subs spike and overload your wiring, it could blow a fuse, or light on fire . That would be fun. (If you're running 2 subs, I'd go with a 1000 watt kit. If the subs are above 500w rms each, I'd go with even higher than that.)
If you're going to make a box yourself, make sure you seal it up real good (Nails and glue), and follow the recommended cubic footage enclosure space your subs are rated for. They'll all have the requirements on the box/in the manual for ported/seal enclosure size.
I'd go with 2 subs, the more the merrier
