I noticed my fan did not kick on during my last ride. Initially, I checked the fuse hoping it was problem, but no luck. The only way I could get the fan to work is by jumping the pink wire with a test light. So, its not the fuse nor the fan motor. Is it time to take it to the dealer? Am I going to get a hard time with all the mods (pcIII,intake, pipe, etc) ? Has anyone else had a problem with the fan other than a fuse? Thanks for the help,

JIM -

From the FSM

"The radiator fan relay kicks on at 100c (212f) and off at 90c (194f)."

The FSM goes on the advice that you power the fan directly (which you did) and if it works, then check the relay. I'd swap the relay next if the power going to it is fine. There should be another one in there you can change it too. Or, you can pull the relay and wire it up outside the quad and test the triggers/outputs with your DMM and a small power supply (battery).

At Relay

BL/W Power from fuse (+)
BL 12v out to fan
BL/W T'd from power from fuse (+)
P/BL Coil Trigger (from the ECU) should be (-)

At Fan

BL 12v in from relay
BK/Y ground

Hope this helps some.

Place a Flex O Lite adjustible temp controle at the relay, and you can make it kick on at a lower temp than stock . $ 40 at Napa Easy install
