Question can i run this on 93?

Just bought another KFX

it came with a Baldwin worked Jug and Head, sparks exhaust, pcIII, intake, Dyno'd at 55hp. Heres the thing, they claimed better throttle response with the stock 12.6 or whatever it is piston over a 14.

now, since i have not increased the compression ratio by leaving the stock piston, i should be able to get away with some good 93 octane while i practice to save myself a cabillion dollars?--without damage--

Thanks for any input guys, this forum is the place to be

Compression, load, heat and timing are the things that produce the ping...

It should be fine to use that all the time... I would think...

With stock compression you should be golden with pump gas. (A few of the Husky gas stations here in Calgary have 94 octane at the pump; and one just happens to be the one I pass by on my way out of the city after I've picked up my quad . Nothing higher than that at the pumps here though)

I've searched a ton of forums for information on high compression and race fuel- (I'm running 13.8:1 CP full race piston and VP C-12 Fuel) and the consensus everywhere is not only that you're fine running pump for anything under 13:1 compression ratios but that you wouldn't see a performance increase by running race fuel. Save your money for something else and laugh about me paying $9.25 a gallon for VP!
