starts but shuts off?

I have a 08 that's been sitting in my garage for over a year now. It will start and run fine for about 3-5 seconds and it will shut off. ( I just put fresh gas in right before I tried to start it). Any Ideas?

If it hasnt been moved or started in a year i would do ALL the fluids! also check your tip over sensor, cable free play on clutch and gas, i had similiar problems with my quad when my tip over sensor came loose it would start and shut off in a matter of seconds, sometimes minutes, after it shuts off does it start right up? if not when your cranking see if the FI light is blinking during crank, if so that idicates to me that your tip over sensor is loose

Mine was doing the same thing when the contacts in my tip-over sensor went out. Was a fuel stabilizer put in it before it was put up? If not, your injector is probably clogged. Try to throw some fuel system cleaner and octane booster in the tank as well. Make sure you're using the cold start knob as mentioned, and if it still doesn't stay running change the plug. If all this doesn't work check your TPS voltage.

The cold start is the black knob on the side of the throttle body. When it's pushed in, you turn it to adjust the idle (should be @ 22 clicks). Pull it out for cold starts. It acts as a choke would on a carburated vehicle.

22 clicks in or out? Also where is the tip over switch located?

Tip over i under the hood. It's a little back box with the word "UP" or has arrows telling you which way is up. I think it is 22 click out but someone else shoud confirm this.

with the knob pushed IN and you facing that side of the bike turn it all the way to the left, and then turn it right 22 clicks (adjusting it while the knob is pulled OUT will result in no change)
