Air/Fuel Gage/Sensor

I live way up in the frozen north, and there isn't a quad dyno around, much less one with Dyno Jet software, so I'm trying to figure out other alternatives to tuning my bike. I was thinking about installing an air/fuel gage and then running it through the RPM range under load, and seeing where I'm at; then using the three buttons on the Power Commander itself to adjust the A/F from there to get it close, or at least see where I'm at if nothing else.

Problem is, I'm really not too thrilled about having to spend something like $300-$400 on a kit (F.A.S.T wideband sensor, Wideband Commander, etc)

I'd like just a simple A/F gage, hooked up to a sensor on the exhaust... Nothing too fancy; cheap being the primary goal. A lot of the expensive ones are set up for multiple cylinders, which I obviously don't need. Any ideas?

Look into the new PC V with the auto tune package. They have it listed for the 09 on their web site. I don't know if it will plug into the 08 or not. It looks pretty trick.

you will need to cut a small hole and weld an adapter on your header somewhere. I was hopeing to see some dyno results at somepoint with the pcV vs. the pciii with a good map.

Alright I will do it and give a review on it. All you guys have to do is send like 40 bucks each until I get enough money for it. Come on guys 40 is better than wasting 500.

*Drools* I really, really want one. Buuut I don't have $350 for the PCV, and another $250 for the auto-tune dealie just sitting around. I'll probably get one eventually, but all in good time. It runs well enough as it is, but as with pretty much everyone here, I'm aalways going to want it to be better, stronger, faster.

Will it really matter what elevation the map was made at?
