05 kfx 400 set timing please help!!!!

I have a 2005 KFX 400 that i'm trying to set the timing on. I had reshimed my valves is the reason I had it apart. I marked my cams and my timing chain when i took it apart, but when I put it back together exactly how i took it apart and tried to crank it, it wouldn't crank. I took it back apart and the timing chain wasn't lined up with my cams. Can anyone please help me and tell me what i might have done wrong and how i need to fix it?? I would really appreciate the help!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Yeah, that helps out a lot. Thanks!!! Got one more question for you. Does it not matter if the crank shaft is not exactly in the position it was in when i took it apart, or do i just line up the intake and exhaust cams like that tells me too? I really do appreciate your help!

Line up the crank with the timing marks on the rotor Top-Dead-Center on the compression stroke...

Here's a picture of the KFX450s timing marks, should be similar with the 400..
