KFX 400 air tube mod

I'm just curious, I've seen on here that some people have adapted an LTR tube to fit their airbox. I wanted to do this, but am having trouble getting ahold of one, after some looking, it seems like the KFX 400 intake tube has some of the bends we need, but seems like they might be a hair too drastic. Anybody ever looked into using this tube for the intake mod?

if you are talking about too drastic in size, I doubt that is the case. the FCI is HUGE!

No, not size, I've seen the FCI, ya it's huge. What I meant is where it bends I think it might go too far to the side and hit the frame before it curves back toward the throttle body again.

No... you don't want to use the KFX400 tube.
It wasn't enough for the 400.

KFX/LTZ 400 owners were using 400EX tubes... so much that one of the aluminum airbox companies makes a LTZ/KFX 400 box for a 400EX tube.

Use LTR450, LT500R, or 400EX....

Well heck, give it a look first when it comes....

ANYTHING is a big improvement over stock. Even a straight 2" tube.

The 400 won't work. I have my wifes apart right now and looked at it last night to see if it would be possibe. And besides, it's not that much bigger than the 450. Thats why I made an intake for the 400 as well as my 450. both of them use a '06-'09 trx450r uni air filter. those things are huge!

All I had was a tiny picture to work with... I just saw it had the right bends and was a little bit conical, so I figured for 15 bux it was worth a shot to find out. Probably still check it out, but if it ain't much bigger I'l probably just put it back up... Thanks

has anyone found a good air tube to use on the 450's...like mentioned above the 400's most people used a 400ex. If someone found a good one I'd like to know before I spend 250 on an intake when your mostly buying it for the tube because thats where the airflow restriction is.
