Will a map change much between aftermarket pipe to pipe?

This is a discussion on Will a map change much between aftermarket pipe to pipe? within the Dyno/Tuning Room forums, part of the KFX450 Performance category; For example will the map be much different between a Dasa pipe and a Pro Circuit pipe? Both with a PCIII and FCI....

For example will the map be much different between a Dasa pipe and a Pro Circuit pipe? Both with a PCIII and FCI.

You won't notice a difference at all. The change in your A/F curve between one aftermarket exhaust to another is so minimal, a map made for the right intake will be interchangeable between most aftermarket exhausts.

It's the intake that makes all of the difference. A map for a Fuel Customs intake and a Yohi exhaust will work for a FCI and a Dasa, for example, but a map for a Velocity intake and a Yoshimura pipe won't work for an FCI and a Yoshi.

I ran the Dasa map with that same Pro Circuit exhaust for over a year and it ran fine.
