PROCOM ECU vs RMSTATOR CDI
Ok, I need some input on what these two things do, if there the same thing or not, which is better, & is it worth the $200??? Also, would these work in place of a PCIII? Says they each have 9 adjustmens to richen or lean up to 20%.... Any help or input would be great!

I would say those are made by the same company and sold with different names on them. They are kind of doing the samething as a pc3 but the pc3 can be set to your specific applications. Who knows what per progamed settings they have in theirs.

I think it might be the same thing too... but not sure... sounds similar at least.
I asked Procom about theirs and they told me it is a replacement for the stock ECU, which is good since it is cheaper. It has 9 preset fuel/ignition maps programmed in. Richer or leaner 20%.
I guess you have one knob to turn.... the fuel and ignition change together.
You should get in touch with RMStator and report back what they say about their product.

So then if I had a power commander these are pointless? I was under the impression these raised the rev limmiter, advanced the timing, along with air/fuel.... And I know with a PCIII you can adjust air/fuel only. A PCIII doesn't raise the rev limmiter or advance the timing correct? Just wondering if these are a waste or not? But thanks for the input so far. I was hoping some people on this site had them so they could fill us in a little!

We have the Pro Com on our KFX and have been happy with it. We are running the Ron Woods exhaust and intake system. We started off real rich and then just leaned it out step by step until we liked what we seen out of our spark plug. Then we put it on the dyno and the air fuel looked great. All you have to do is turn the little screw to make adjustments. I am not a big fan of the Power Commander, have seen to many messed up and or screw up your stock ecm. Pro Com is working on a fully adjustable ecu that you can adjust like the Power Commander and when it coms out I will most likely get that, if not the factory Kawasaki adjustable ecu.

ProCom Improved ECU
I just bought the newest version (totally programmable) from ProCom, and we will be installing in on one of our 08 KFX450Rs tomorrow. We've been having some trouble with the PCIII (we have one on each of the race bikes, and one that the software can't communicate with). We really like the PCIIIs but they've been kind of tempermental at times. One of the biggest problems, I believe, is that adjusting the fuel is good, but timing must be adjusted as well. The KAWI version of the Adjustable ECU is major bucks (I think it's $600). I picked up the adjustable one from ATV Galaxy for less than list, and we'll install it and test it tomorrow. The other issue with the PCIII, is that you are splicing into an existing harness (not necessarily bad, but it adds failure points if something goes wrong). For instance, the TPS wire that get's spliced into can corrode at the connector (and, it is probably the worst type of splice you can use in a harsh environment). We ended up soldering the wire into a splice and sealing it with heat shrink.
I'll keep you posted as to the results tomorrow.

Same here brother... I'm working with the same piece... I have just been trying to keep my mouth shut about it until I am experienced.
But frankly, I think this is what we all really need.
I know it is what "I" needed... for sure... as I have had a bad ECU... and I have not been able to get Kawasaki to replace it.
So I want NO KAWASAKI ECU PERIOD... adjustable or not. They are Mitsubishi pieces (which Mitsubishi denys manufacturing) and either way I think you stand a high chance of getting a bad one from the research I have done.
Anyways, the Kawi adjustable ECU cost right at $1,000 if you actually want the stuff to go with it to make adjustments.
Procom's whole unit is $299.... and is more adjustable than anything else on the market as far as I can tell.
And not only is it programmable for the techy guys who would fool with a Power Commander... but it also has several map presets for the guys who would buy a carb logic type tuner. And furthermore it can still be used in conjunction with a fuel controller for "on the fly" fine tuning way out in a trail high on a mountain or something.... or you can load similar maps with fine differences and select between them as needed... etc...
But to me the big bonus is it ALSO is a total replacement for the crap stock ECU.
I plan to tinker with mine tomorrow as well.
Been saying I would post some about it by April 1st.
Glad I won't be all alone on this...

I think that is what you were trying to post?
This one still also has 9 preset maps like the old model... just a bit improved... and it actually has 10 maps now.
It now also has a usb wire and software... so you can program it custom to your liking... if one of the 10 improved maps is not doing it for you.
You don't really have to have a laptop to do this either.
Just unhook it, remove the two bolts and walk it right in to a desktop, plug and program.
The only thing that bugs me about it so far is the placement of that 9 map selector.
You can't get at it with the provided screwdriver because of where it is at.
I don't know if the old plain model is this way?
And maybe it's this way on purpose to make you take it off to change it?
If not I will make a tool.
