Kawasaki EFI Programmer??
I was wondering if anyone else in the world besides me actually high rolled and bought the programmer that kawasaki sells?? and if so, do you have any tuning tips for it.. i have a Dasa 13" pipe and a Dasa intake. i think i have it tuned right.. been running it for 2 years now and it hasnt blown up. also got over 30 t rophies with it.. the plug looks good every time i check it, and i check it often. just looking for any help i can get to maybe make it run better, and if anyone knows where i can get a good dyno tune around the IUP area of Pa. thanks

Well uhh, I'm not too sure about the Kawasaki programmer, I'm running a Power Commander III myself, but I figure if it doesn't pop when your RPMs are coming down, and it doesn't bog, it should be running ok. It is a little strange that your text size decreased as your post went on though...
(Is this where the disclaimer goes?)

Haha yeah i dont know what the hell i did there, and how i didnt notice.. but anyway, everyone seems to be running the pc3 for the most part.. i was looking for the rare breed that for some reason paid the ungodly amount for the one from kawi like myself.. the quad blows black smoke at idle when you rev it cause its rich. but then running it doesnt. and at any rpm, no matter how easy or hard you ar on it, it always has good pull. and like i said, i check the plug a lot and it is never lean or to dark.. always a nice brown. but i know you can change more things with the kawi programmer than a pc3. i was just wondering if anyone has some light to shed on it for me

Well, I am the rare breed that has been looking for YOU for a long time.
I want to know all about the Kawasaki programmable ECU.
Like...
How do you program it?
Where do you get maps?
Does it also include the ability to tune ignition?
(adjustable ignition timing curves)
If it does, it might be worth the money in the end.
ALL of the dirtbike guys seem to be sticking with the stock adjustable ECU they have and are running Kawi maps and ignition curves for different riding styles/conditions/terrains....

Ill post up what i think i know about it tonight. but dont take in everything i say cause im not really sure what im doing.. i just poke and hope. i think ive just been lucky up to this point.. off hand, i know you can change the top revs higher or lower. by 500 rpms or so.. you can obviously change the fuel amount going in. and im pretty sure you can change timing.. there are a few things im not sure what they are. but ill get back to you on those ones

Cool... I'll look for the info later...
This might be the route I decide to go myself.

ok. so here is some of the stuff on the kawasaki programmer.
To program it, you just take off the middle peice of plastic on your hood and there are too free connections wrapped in two black bads.. you hook up the cable from the signal converter wire to the quad and the other end to the computer.. turn the key on and the computer will pick up you ECU. then you have a list of things to play with..
You can change the over rev from -1000 to +500. thats the simple part.. now it gets rough..
You can change the acceleration injection increase. i do beleive this it the amount of fuel.. or atleast thats what i took it as. you can change this from -30% to +30% leaves quite a bit of room to play i think.
Then there is the Fuel injection time correction.. i guess this is to spray the fuel sooner or later?? im not sure.. i changed it and i probable did it wrong lol.. but you can also change this -30% to +30%
Also there its acceleration ignition-timing advance correction. not real sure what this is.. but you can change it from 0 to -.1%
Lastly there is the ingition-timing correction. im guessing this is what makes it fire at different times. aka, retarded or advanced.. this you adjust by crank angle.. in the range from -10 degrees up to +3
One of the nice things about this is, you can most of these on a 2d or a 3d graph. on a 2d the variables are normally gas position and rpm range.. and it has the rpm range listed from 1000, 2000, 3000, to 11,000 in my case cause i turned it up 500 rpms. you can adjust it as any gas amout at any rpm..
As for finding maps.... i have never found a map for this anywhere.... thats why i just plug and play.. and why im really looking for help as to figure out this thing.. sooooo,
NOW - If anyone knows something that i messed up, PLEase correct me.. that way i might know what im doing when i go to program it! thank you!
its now after 3a.m. and i have to get up for work at 7... that said, im to lazy to go back through and look for mistakes. my brain is fried and im going to bed.. ill look through this jibberish rant tomorrow and see if i missed or messed anything up.. i hope im more help to everyone else than what people have been to me on this subject lol
