What is the actual difference? I can see in the pics that they are different, but I would like more of an explanation please. Are the ECU's on the KX already adjustable and the calibration kit is for adjusting the maps and ignition? Why wouldn't you also be able to use it to adjust KFX mapping also? Different ECU's? Aren't they virtually the same motor? I'm new to FI so excuse my lack of knowledge, but it just blows my mind that patching in a PC3 to modify the the signal post ECU is cheaper and more common than altering the actual ECU/FI mapping. What the hell were the engineers at KAWA -SUCK-I thinking. They should have put the adjustable ECU in the thing from the start, or at the very least they should have the ability to adjust the internal mapping at the dealership as a service.

Thanks to you too...
So it does allow adjustment of everything.
But it does not sound like it's as nice/simple as the dirt bike setup.
And it is VERY pricey.
I guess I will narrow my choices to Dynojet and Dynatek.

Don't think I can be much help, but I am interested. I can't believe nobody can help you out. I'm currently shopping for a programmer, leaning towards the PC V w/autotune. Autotune because I know virtually nothing about FI. Does the one you have totally replace a stock ECU to make it adjustable, or does it hook up temporary to make adjustments? If it does hook-up temporarily I would think you need to take it to a dyno and they should be able to reprogram the actual FI system. Not needing any programmer hooked up afterwards patching in maps. That's just a guess, but that would be cool. Once you got good with programming with it you could do other peoples for a fee. Now that I think about it I seem to remember someone somewhere posting that they could reprogram peoples FI for $50 and people complained about him trying to charge. I think they thought what he just was offering a map, and didn't fully realize what was offered. Was that you? I'd like to see a screen shot. Do you want to sell it?

I'm thinking of going the other way now, because of cost.
Dynojet and Dynatek will have ignition controllers to go with their fuel controllers.

This does completely replace the stock ECU. and the quad already has a port on it to hook the wire up to the computer. as for wanting to tune other peoples, i want nothing to do with that untill i can figure out everything with mine lol. so no haha that wasnt me. and if your asking if i want to sell my ECU.. im pretty happy with it even though i dont know what im doing with it..
Also with this ECU, you can watch engine properties while its actaully running and hooked up to your computer. Things such as RPMs, Water temp, Intake air temp, Throttle opening, and a few other things as well. You can also save this info to compair it at a later time.
and i thought about getting a PC V with auto tune.. but i heard before that if you run leaded fuel. it mill mess up the 02 sensor in the pipe. which will make it miss read what amount of fuel it should actaully have. so i dont know if i could trust that.

I liked the previous PIM + FIMAK too.
These don't say anything about timing adjustment though.
