From a recent shootout i did with SAND ADDICTION magazine

i believe this ktm sx had no screen in the end of the muffler

The ktm is a pretty nice machine for stock and set up to race from the factory. I like my reverse though and with the big3 will be right there with the ktm for power.

This is some good, acurate dyno information. Sometimes the dyno printouts look to be way off. What kind of tires were these quads using at the time of test?

KFX450R + big 3 = same results as the KTM and $2000.00 less + reverse, and FI.

Great out of the box power.. i've never heard of Sand Addiction, sounds like a good magazine especially since i spend considerable time in the dunes

i run 21 in tall DURO street slicks.... run in 4th gear and all the mph's were within 7 mph

a 3 mod kfx does 45 hp on my dyno

if u havent seen or ridden a KTM 450 sx or had a walk thru with someone knowledgable about them then u can give it a true evaluation.... it is nothing like the others with "just better intake and exhaust"... its a world apart

That was actually a very good shoot out that Sand Addiction did, you can download it from there website. KTM got first for obvious reasons, but the Yamaha barely edged out the Kawi for second, followed buy Honda, Polaris, Suzuki. I'm sure the Can-Am woulda been up there somewhere too. It was nice to read a shootout that wasn't overly biased in any direction, just some good honest journalism. What was also interesting was there wet weight measurements of all the quads. The KFX is pretty light compared to the YFZ and LTR
