I just ordered the white carbon fiber racing hood from the Meier web site Friday. I will post pics when I get it installed.

not to be a debbie downer but i was lookin at the pictures and they look to be "carbon look" as opposed to real carbon. i mean if you want just the looks thats good, but ive had friends buy dash kits offline and get disappointed when they it arrives and its not real carbon. but its a hood and the weight difference between carbon and plastic is negligable at that point. so as long as it looks sexy rock it!

Yea, it's just the carbon fiber look. I am one of the few that like the white hood on the green kawi. Just wanted something a bit differant than the stock unit. Thinking about ordering a whole new wire harness for the plug and lights. replace the 3 red, and 1 green bulbs with red, blue, and green super bright LEDs.

Got my hood in the mail today. I was surprized to see the holes for the lights pre drilled. I guess I don't know why I was thinking they wouldn't be. So I guess I wont be installing any custom LED lights in this thing unless I just replace the bulbs. Anyway, The hood looks great on my bike. Maybe I should not have gotten the white carbon fiber. Black carbon or plain white would have looked much better. Oh well, I guess I will be the only one with this combo.
As for my thoughts on the hood itself. Looks cool. Does not fit like the stocker does.

MEIER Racing Hood review.
Fit-
Sucks. I spent a half an hour dremeling to get it to slide far enough down to bolt on.
Finish-
Nice. The white carbon fiber (look). Looks as it should.
The stocker has a better edge where the wires drop down. The Meier worries me that the edges may rub and start to cut into the hoses and cables.

My email to Meier-MFG.
Got my order today. Thank you. Order number ***. I must say that I am displeased with the quality of this product. I had to use a dremel tool to get it to slide all the way into place. For the money spent, I was expecting something with the same quality of the hood that I took off my bike. Not something that had jagged edges and un-even mounting tabs. On the positive side, the carbon fiber simulation looks good.

I haved had the Maier lo-pro hood for a couple years and it fit perfect. I had to do nothing to make it fit. I definitly like the look since I never liked the white stock hood and the bump on the stocker reminds me of a Jet Ski
