PRM swingarm guard
Well since my stock plastic swingarm skid plate broke apart and spread itself out all over Arizona 2 years ago... I had to get another one since I'm heading there again next week. Went with the PRM .190 Z-plate. Quality looks nice, came with the needed hardware and fit right up no problem. I'll have to take a before and after shot to see how it fairs

For rocky stuff...I woulda gone w/the .250. .190 plates don't take the abuse nearly as well. I hope it lasts, but I've even ruined .250's in rocky areas. I love my PRM .250...the quality on their skids (at least swingarms) is unmatchable. My Pro Armor skid didn't last nearly as long...took a few decent hits and it was bent up into the sprocket and rotor.

Hey bdr, this is a little off of your subject, but do you have the Q4 slip on,or do ya have the header too?I also have the Q4,but just slip on.Just curious, because i`m getting the power bomb header and wondering if you may have a map for yours.

I'm not too worried about the rocks, wont be going fast over them since it's just trail stuff I'll be doing. It'll be more like sliding over them instead of smacking them. There were no scrapes or gouges on the swingarm that I could see even after 2 years of riding without protection on it.
sureshots, I'm just running a Q4 slip on. Thinking of adding a header this year though. I'm running the -Dasa Exhaust, FCI Intake Map From High Desert Dyno at the moment, haven't had any problems with it. Probably isn't optimal but close enough for me, for now.

I run PRM on my 400EX and have learned the Pro Armor lesson with the KFX.
I'd rather have the PRM .190 than the Pro Armor.
I always go with the .250 though.
I think PRM swinger skids are the best... the ducks nutz...
Please let me know if the chain makes a slapping noise against the PRM.
If not, I am going to sell my Pro Armor and get a PRM instead of bashing the Pro Armor up first.

It still does it man. It's because of the angle. The PRM is actually a little worse b/c it is longer.

Yup, it has a guide riveted in place. As for the chain slap, I'll have to go for a ride to find out.

Don't have a picture yet but the skid held up pretty dang good I think. Took quite a few hits on the trails of Arizona. There are marks in the area of the shock protection to gouges at the very back. It did bend up a little on the sprocket side after a really nasty hit climbing about a 700 foot long rock face full of holes, step ups, gaps and trenches.
Chain slap... didn't really hear it at all. Just a couple times out of about 42 miles of riding the one day. I'll get a picture up soon.

I'm thinking about trying 15/39 gearing to see how that effects chain routing and operational slack.
May make no difference....
