I cannot run a twist on a quad. i have an 07 night train and a 99 cbr 600 f4 and rode skirt bikes most my life, twist on bikes is great! just can't handle it on the quads have a tendency to plow into trees in break bumps or rough outs when i accidently gas the fucker because i am wore out 1.5 hrs into a hare scramble

I understand everyone's arguement and personal opinions on this, but neither is really an inferior design over the other. Guys say twist throttles require more finess, and that is true, but man is it more comfortable. I ride my buddies quads with thumbs on occasion, and after half a ride, my thumb is sore. It's not used to that much pressure all the time. I'm very used to twists and I have total control over getting pulled backwards and NOT rotating the twist throttle. There is a fine line between rotating the handlebar and pulling the handlebar. If you have grown up with twists and ride/rode a streetbike, I highly suggest you get the twist throttle. I have the motion pro.

i gave the thumb throttle a try but couldnt get used to it so i put a motion pro 1/4 turn twist throttle on it and love it. have been using it nowfor 2 years. i dont think you get into any more trouble with a twist over a thumb throttle. i race local and gncc and i am on all types of terrain and have never gotten into trouble because of a twist. its all persona lpreference
